Hi Guys
Here are some runs with the Ypipe. Based on seat of pants and actual numbers a Ypipe is a HP/Trq maker... 10-15 hp & Tq to the ground. With drivetrain loss, I would estimate flywheel numbers for HP/Tq in the 20-30 range. Not bad for a alum pipe.

However a ypipe in a stock tuned truck still has issues making linear power. Truck still has factory exhaust and headers.

see here for larger pics

So it looks like the tune is the most gain. I am not seeing the 10-15hp gain from the Y on the graphs, I am only seeing about 6hp. I may not be seeing it correctly? Could you please do a CAI test run at your convience?

VERY interesting Mike!

What I love is the torque curve. Look how high it is at low RPMs compared to the upper RPMs.

Quite flat overall.

Art, with the 2000(PI heads) do you think the
increases would be along the same lines percentage wise?

You're asking ME?

I think with the PI heads, you'd see even more of a result.

The thing is, which year? 2000 with the non-restricted y-pipe? Or 2001-up with the restricted y-pipe?

If I'm not mistaken, the '99 in these dyno tests didn't have a restricted y-pipe in the first place.

Just don't know, until someone dynos it.

For me, I didn't notice a difference in PEAK torque with the eBay ypipe, but that with headers already on the truck. I noticed a big different in light-load, small throttle opening, torque.

Yes, the mid year 2000, mine was June, had the same pipe at the 99.
I noticed the increase in low end, & towing as well. I have a superchip set for economy, I'm not sure thats as good as the 5 star equip, but it came with the truck.
