I'm guessing the 93 performance tune you wrote for me doesn't lock the converter in third and that's why it feels like my power drops off going into third?

Hi Dew
Your tune does lock in 3rd but will also unlock and downshift or unlock 3rd to downshift, so to dyno your truck you have to feather throttle. The program we use to lock 3rd on dyno is only for dyno runs as once in 3rd / 3rd lock trans will not unlock or downshift when heavy into throttle.

Oh ok. I got it now. Didn't realize you were using an actual "dyno tune". I need to get it back out with the stock tires on it and run it again.

A little update here. Putting in a 2001 PI engine with less miles in our 99'. Not because we had to but because we want to... Old engine running fine. Found an engine with way less miles and refreshed top half of engine. Should be in the truck by end of Aug or Sept.. So we can at least see what a PI (heads) engine does over a NON PI..with tune, headers, ypipe, intake , and cat back FM70...

Sounds like a plan. Think a set of Thorleys on the newish PI would throw you off budget.

I'd like to see the exact exhaust and everything else he has right NOW to be applied to the new engine and not go off changing header brands

We will stick with whats there now. Down the road though it might be a good idea to dyno different headers... I kind of like that idea...

Small update!
PI engine should be in by tomorrow. I had called on a friend of mine that has a auto repair business to swap out for me. He needed some work to do as things have been slow. Spread the love I guess , I had stopped by this morning to bring a few missing gaskets we needed. Looks like the tranny has been rebuilt at some point in its life. Torque converter appeared to be almost brand new just from looks. .

Anybody have any thoughts on what we should do with a good running NON PI engine? Complete with intake and wiring harness..

I've very interested to see your results with a PI motor. I can't wait!

Hi Skoda
We have looked into it for a while now ...... Costs have not justified for green light... I have some other ideas I am looking into though.
