Engine has intermittent starting problem

This may not fit into this forum, but I don't know where to go.
I have a '96 Lincoln Town Car that occasionally will not start. It is usually when it has been shut off for a short time. It fires immediately and then shuts off. People tell me it is probably tied into the anti-theft system. Sometimes I get out of the car, lock and unlock the doors, and it will start. Sometimes I roll the car a few feet and it starts. Other times I just have to walk away for a few minutes to let whatever reset.
I took it to a Lincoln dealer and they thought it could be an eight hour job to find the problem. Is there a wire I could disconnect, a relay to disable, or something else I can do to disable the anti-theft system? Is there another site that may be able to help?
Thanks for any direction or hekp you can give.

the town cars had a issue with the crank sensor connectors.carefully remove the wires one at a time from the connector and solder the connector where the wire is crimped and sharpen a paper clip and put tension on the internal tab so it makes better connection with the sensor.thats where id start
