Help with 460 cruise control in HR Motorhome

My cruise died suddenly. The dash on Holiday Rambler has no light showing it is on. Is there a site I can obtain a wiring diagram to trouble shoot. I pulled the dog house and looked for obvious, like the cable off the servo or mouse chewed wires. At the time the recall was done, Ford said the issue with the fire danger did not cause my problem. All controls of course are on steering wheel. I did not have the $ to have Ford look further.

Thanks, POTTS

www.helminc.com sells the factory Ford diagrams. You can see if they have yours in stock. A common failure for the cruise control is the wiring and slip ring behind the steering wheel, since the controls are mounted on the wheel itself.

Also check fuse #F,10a in the engine compartment, and fuse #9, 15 amp in the underdash fuse box. And even though your brake switch may not fall under the recall, it still could go bad, so make sure you have continuity through the switch with no brake pedal pressure.

Thanks for your help. I did check all fuses and I will check the brake switch for continuity. Not sure if I want to pull the steering wheel. I imagine it takes special tools and skill! You are the second person that suspected the slip ring and contacts in steering wheel. I my mind that was less likely because of the low miles on the rig, but perhaps another downside of it sitting idle so much of it's life!

Thanks again Dave
