Interior Work (dash replacement)

Ok guys, I got my tranny problems worked out and got my old white 85 beast back on the road. D@MN!!! it feels good for a 4x4!!!! Now my interior is blue as my blood, ha, ha. But, my dash board is cracked and busted in the center where it looks like a center speaker should be, so I want to replace the dash. My question here is where to get the highest quality, best fit and looking replacement dash? What's it gonna cost me?

I wouldn't put one of those dash "caps" on my truck.

Of course, my truck is special to me, and I am pretty much restoring the truck. I guess the dash "caps" are ok if you just have a work truck though.

The dash "caps" offered by LMC and everyone else actually glue over your existing dash. Notice how the speaker holes look? They do NOT match the original pattern. It is NOT a replacement dashboard. NO ONE reproduces these dash pads, so your only other sorce would be the junkyard, and then paint it to match.

Wow, good catch. I didn't notice that it was a cover. That's what I get for not paying enough attention.

Sorry for the bum steer Wayne. I thought I had ya covered. (Apparently, I did, but not in the right way.)

dash caps never fit well, and they warp in the summer time. also they cover the screws to take the dash off so if you ever wanted to replace the dash you would have to cut the cover to get to the screws

check page 7 of the NPD catalogue....
The have the dash pads....as well as the dash pad covers
They do not list a price unfortunately(you must call), but that would also suggest that this is what you are looking for. NPD does have original ford stock...or so they claim.
Though I wouldn't rule out a decent use one.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've checked the junk yards around here with no luck. I thought those LMC parts looked to be just covers. I want to pull the old dash top out and in with a new one. I'm sure that there is a compny out there that offers these I just haven't been able to locate it yet. I know waht you mean Lariat. I probably could've bought and paid for a new F150 with all I've done to my truck. Ottowaguy is that National Parts Depot you are referring to?

Yes...National Parts Depot..
They have an online catalogue. You can also get a hard copy mailed to you. I am in Canada and it only took 2 days to come....Hope the parts come that fast.

I live in the same town as their Florida warehouse,so I got mine the next day.I'll likely order alot of parts from them for my F100,since I won't have to pay shipping, and they can't screw me over, since I can just drive over there and have the problem fixed.lol.I consider myself lucky.
