Value of engine and trans?

I took the 289 and c4 out of my '50. I was wanting to list them for sale but don't know what to ask. I know the engine was running when the truck was parked over 25 years ago. Any ideas?

does engine spin over? will it run? was it ever bored? 2 or 4 bolt mains? i would think most people will want to know that unit is operable, not siezed up or cracked. 25 years is a long time to sit.

That's a really nice combination (why did you take it out?).

And if it's useable as is, I would venture to say it's worth somewhere around $500 to $750 at least.

But of course we all know something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

Since both were sitting for 25 years, I would consider them as cores and would only expect to get core prices for them. Both will likely need a rebuild to be sure that they operate properly.
