RoadMaster Active Suspension

Does anyone here have Roadmaster Active Suspension installed on their truck? Im looking at getting something to increase payload and decrease axle wrap....I just had to replace a broken leaf and i think axle wrap pulling my 12000lb+ horse trailer especially when backing up, lead to my broken spring. Truck is a 2000 F250 4x4 6spd 7.3 PSD. Does the roadmaster actually make a noticable difference? thanks

Go to aftermarket rear springs, replace both. the superduties are known for breaking leafs.

I have a post in that link from Eric above.

I obviously have the RAS installed in my Excursion. I've had it installed for 2 years now. I've hauled ~11,000 miles since installing the RAS. I haul a 9000# 35' hitch to bumper TT with 1100-1200#'s of tongue weight. I NOTICE A DIFFERENCE with the RAS.

There is an ebay seller that has been selling the RAS for right at $120 or so shipped to your home.

The improvements IMO that the RAS give rear spring capacity for such an easy mod make it well worth it.

If you search for some of my posts...I've got lots of them on the RAS in particualr.

If you have any questions...just ask...I'm sold on the RAS...easiest and cheapest 2000# of rear spring capacity you will ever find. If you go to the link above and find post #19...I posted a link to my photos of my RAS install...takes ~2 hours to do yourself.

Good luck,
Joe.

I had the Roadmaster springs on my old truck, the worked fine but they raised the rear of the truck almost 3 " and made it ride rougher. I went with Firestone Air bags on my 08 and like them much better.

I have the RAS on my 04 Excursion 4x4. Money well spent. I would do it again.

I have been thinking about which to get, the Roadmaster or air bags. Ride was one of my big concerns with the Roadmaster. Seems like it would have to change the ride with the extra spring always in play. Air bags don't have that concern but are more involved to install. I've used bags before and liked them but I don't think I would install them again without an onboard comprssor.

I like the air bags and i don't have the onboard compressor, i have a cheapo $25 remote 12 volt plugin compressor and it works fine....the road master is a pain to adjust after the fact.
