Trailer hitch steps?

I'm looking to buy one. Don't really care for the big huge 3-4ft long tube ones. I'd perfer a smaller fold down type. Any suggestions? And I'd like it in black.
Thanks!

I think TM Machine is going to be the most readily available. DriverFX stores and Advanced should be able to dropship them.

I'm no welder, but I built mine. No fold, I just attached 2 x 2 stock to a length of 3 x 6 angle. With front and rear hitches I get a lot of mileage out of my step.

The cost for the material was minimal and the weld is ugly, but it holds up my fat a$$.

Ebay has some nice step hitches, and at good prices.

I think that black xtreme step would be great. If you didnt get it, I bet you would be wishing you HAD. I can definitely see that a step big enough for both feet would be a great help, and its not like you have to leave it in there 100% of the time.

It doesn't really seem like the xtreme hitchstep is any better then standing on the bumper. It looks really narrow.

For me, I would want a step I can stand on with both feet facing the truck. With my big, ugly feet, that would be about 14" deep. If I made one 14" x 16" using angle iron and expanded metal floor, it could double as a really tiny luggage holder

Imagine the baby version of this:

I have the Rhino regular "hitch step" in all black. It's not the "extreme" one - the 2nd one over from the left on their site under hitch steps. It works well and I got it on ebay for about $20. It's not only handy for loading stuff on top or deep in the back, but a nice thing to have back there to hit first when backing up. It doesn't interfere with the reverse sensors - they just don't really account for it being there.

I ended up getting the extreme step. I need one with a flat step b/c I mountain bike a lot and the bottom of my shoes are plastic with metal cleets. The round style steps would end up being a circus act.
I'll post a couple of pix when I get a chance.

I would see what you find in the side fold outs that you could fabricate to fit the rear. You could fold them up when not in use and have them hidden under the bumper or even flush under it give a bit of a custom design to them.

FYI - the round hitch step, despite being tubular, does have a flat standing / foot surface. Again, I don't use it too much unless I have to get to the cargo on top, but I leave it there all the time so it's the first
thing to bump into something if I'm not paying attention.

I agree - there's many types, mine's like the black one below. It's more of a battering ram than a step. Thought about getting one for the front too but added a fishing rod holder instead...
