What is your favorite wax?

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to start a thread to see what your favorite car waxes are. I know that there are many out there but I just wanna hear your experiences good or bad.

On the topic, I always go for Meguiars Gold Class Paste Wax.

Look forward to hearing what you use!

When I had my previous ride (not the f150), I discovered that Meguiar's Cleaner Wax, followed by their Gold Class paste worked very well for me. It made the black paint on that car seem wet. I use that same combo on the truck and it works great for me! However, white paint doesn't get the wet look that black does.

I have used Turtle Wax Synthetic Ice. It leaves a good shine and you can put it on plastic and it does not leave a white residue. It goes on easy and wipes off quickly.

I use EAGLE ONES nanopolish. I was turned onto that because it works well on black vehicles. It fills all the minor swirls and scratches in and really gives a nice shine.

I use the synthetic ice as well on my truck. It leaves a nice shine and is easy to use.

Maguires NXT Generation Tech Pro 2.0. Just put it on my black F150 after clay bar and Maguires cleaner/wax. hat paint looks 4" thick now and it got rid of a bunch of scratches. If you've never clay bar'd your truck, I recommend it. You won't believe the contaminates that come out the clear coat. Plus, the wax works better after clay bar.

Hi this is my first post here and I must say I like to first put on a layer or 2 of NTX as a sealer then follow it up with Collenite 845 in the winter and megs # 16 in the summer

Ya i am a firm believer in the clay bar. Living in snow country I usually do it 2 times a year. One in the summer and one in the winter. The reason for starting this thread was to gather some info as i am going to clay bar and wax the truck after the winter, and am kinda wanting to switch brands if something seems to stick out as being better than another.

Anyways keep the thoughts coming guys!

I would also like to vouch for the Mequires Gold Class. Its the only wax i use on my show car. I put it on and use and orbital buffer to take it off and its so smooth after. I can set a towel on hood and it slides right off. Then i use the Mequires Quick Detailer and it works well at getting water spots and a little dirt off, esspecially if its used after a wax, but before the next wash.

Eagle One NanoWax

Another vote for Eagle One! I use all their products with great results. They look good without a lot of elbow grease. I supplement the black plastic parts of the truck with a dose of Back To Black periodically.

You know what works good on the black exterior plastic? Makes it look new and gives it the slightly wet look. Armor All Tire Foam. I just spray a little on rag and wipe it over the plastic. Its not greasy like the tire wet stuff. It works nice.

Oh ya and it looks nice on tires too. I dont use it as a cleaner for my tires, i use it for the slightly wet look without the greasy mess and splatter on your fenders after you drive it the first time. After i was my car and scrub the tires and wheels i let it all dry, then i spray the tire foam on the tires and just wipe it all around the tires with a rag, makes them look good. And its great for reapplying in between washes because its doesnt make the tires real gross and filthy from picking up all the dirt like tire wet products.

Never used a clay bar. What is it, and how do you use it? I'm interested to find out! Thanks in advance for the replies..............
