Help!Door and Rear Cab corner

I need some help.My painter replaced the rear cab corners on my 53 and is telling me the back of the doors wasn't a flush fit or in line with the cab corner. My door sticks out about a half inch more than the cab corner. I told him i thought they should be even with each other. Almost a straight edge.Who's wrong me or him. Need some pictures from someone please , to satisfy my curiousity. He said if their even they've been modified and that they all look like this stock. I disagree. i hope I'm wrong . He wants to bend the rear lip of the door an 1/2 inch to fix it. Both doors came out like that.

If the door is flush everywhere else, then he put the cab corners on wrong. They are usually a poor fit (made in china), but thats no excuse. I'd make him redo it. T/M

The cab corners are a poor fit in this area. I noticed that when I start body work, I have to cut the bottom of the corners loose and move them out to match the doors.

I need a shot looking up from the bottom. Where the bottom right corner of the door lip lines up with the cab corner. And I think this guy is an idiot too but he has my truck right now. Aussie 53 almost had the shot. Kudos to everyone that helps me.

there are many things to check when replacing a cab corner, he obviously didn`t close the door and checked the fit before welding it into place!!!

I cant reason with this guy . He's right and I cant prove him wrong. I got my cab corners from midfifty ,the one that didnt have a hole for the gas tank .Looks like I'm gonna be stuck with a screw up from a F##k up! I'm really pissed and dont know what to do. Learned the hard way I guess. Any Truck lawers out there?

Take a picture and post it here so we can see if it looks like it can be fixed.

Just stop and walk away from the truck for awhile.Does the door follow the cab line all the way down until it meets the new cab corner? If not then you might have an adjustment at the door striker. If it does meet flush from cab to door until it meets the new corner then check that the rocker panel to door alignment from the bottom looking up to see if the rocker stays in line with the door when closed. If the rocker was buckled in due to the rot from the cab corner and not noticed this could be the problem.Don't mess with the door It's cheaper to put a new corner on . PS. try putting a straight edge against the door and cab edge and drag it down until it meets the new cab corner this will show you the high and low points

Also did you replace the inner cab corner? if not then check to see if the old inner cab corner fits the way it should against the new outer
