Which tube are we talking about? The one that draws air into the box? Or the one that brings air from the box to the throttle body?

Go to a junkyard and get the stock airbox and intake tubes off another truck, it's better than that setup you have.

Sorry, forgot to mention thats not my truck just a photo I found of the intake part that I need to replace. My truck is 100% stock motor wise.

Then you definitely don't need anything but a stock intake tube and airbox.

I know I'm just trying to get the stock intake tube. I just want to get a new one as if mine is getting soft then I'm sure the ones at the junk yard will be soft or will get soft here pretty soon.

theres nothing wrong with a pvc one , unless your showing off under the hood or something?? just get 2 small pvc tubes then a Y adapter then run a single tube off it to the fender, even then you can paint the pvc to whatever color you want to make it custom. or most local auto stores like pepboys or autzone sell intake tubing in chrome usually, just pc it together that way. just a thought anyway

Even if it does get soft, It aint gonna collapse and cause problems, there is not enough suction through there to collapse it

well its soft enough to tear without effort is what concerns me. The two boots that goto the throttle body have two tears that are about an inch long on each one where they are extremely soft.

I don't know if this would be easy, or not, but, my '97 F250 air filter box has two outlet connectors, and no Y-Pipe. Maybe if you were to replace the aircleaner box with this style, then you could get some bulk air intake hose from your local goodyear/gates sources, and cut it to fit. (We used to have a lot of this type of product at the Caterpillar truck engine shop I worked at.)

I would think that the distance to travel from the air cleaner box to the TB would prevent any worry about possible kinks.
