The cloth wire looks great new, but it's hard to keep it looking that good!

Myself, for $185 I can buy all the wire, good connectors and fuse blocks I need to wire from scratch and build a custom harness as I go. I have trouble tracing down premade harnesses.
One of the reasons I was thinking of the EZ wire system was that the wires are marked through it's entire length making it easy to trace or am I missing something here, can you send us a picture Julie, wink wink nudge nudge

Where did you get the cloth covers for your wire. Or, did come pre-covered?

Wire

www.riwire.com has the wire and connectors. They even have a loom wrapping machine and will wrap your harness(cotton) in any color or pattern you want. At first I was going to go that way but am I pulling towards a vinyl wrap to keep the wires safer and cleaner. The ends will still be exposed so that the traces will match the schematic and make it easier to connect things.

Wire size

Forgot to mention, if you are working on a 6v truck, the wire sizes are larger then 12v systems. Watts=power so to get the same results:

12v x 1amp = 12 watts

6v x 2amps = 12watts

the amps are higher.

A Picture? Sure no problem!

Here's a picture of the lights wiring diagram I made in MS Power Point. All my wiring diagrams are in PP and shown in my #1 Gallery. If you would like a copy to modify as you wire to follow or make a custom drawing for your truck, send me a PM with your real e-mail address.

I am also, after some arguing with my self, going to go with a home made harness, but this is not necessarily for everybody, and if you get a pre-made one it will greatly speed up your project time. Ron Francis did me a big favor so I have to say good things about his service and I do! Speaking of not for everyone and this is just me, and I do understand why, but man, is that cloth covered (vinyl inside) wire as ugly as a rattle snake skin. But each to there own, right.
