05 XL any good?

Three weeks ago my wife was rearended in my 05 super cab stx. To make a long story short they totaled my truck and now i am stuck looking for a new vehicle. This time i woul like to buy a used truck out right. I have a friend who owns a used car lot who has a 4 wheel drive 05 xl. It has just under 50xxx miles on it. It is a regular cab with a manual v6. I can get it for a pretty good deal but not sure how good of truck it would be. I wish it sat a little higher but when you are trying to pay cash you have to take what you can get. Just wondering your thoughts on this truck

I have an 08 XL 2wd V6 with a 5 speed. I live in northerm Minnesota and we had over 30 inches of snow in December and I never got stuck. The reason I bought this truck was because I didn't believe a banner add I saw that said I could buy a new truck for under 11 grand and my truck has air at that price. Back in October when I bought mine the dealer had 50 of them. I just checked and they have a red one left. I have added 18 inch wheels, nav., cd player and cruise all of which I bought on Ebay. This truck is taller and harder to get into that my GMC 1500 4X4. The dealer is Joe Machen Ford, Goggle them for more infromation. I'm glad I bought it now knowing Ford has dropped the manual transmission for 09. I like driving on ice much more with a manual and I love the truck.

How about some particulars on the truck? You can get some additional ride height for under $200 (installed typically).

05 xl

i drive an 05 xl with over 90k on the clock. gettin around 15mpg combined on and off road.i have taken her through two feet of snow and through boot sucking mud( gotta keep those laces tight)and have never had a problem. this truck is a dream. she can be docile enough for my wife to driver her and can get down and dirty with me behind the wheel. i've had chevy's, dodge's and imports. nothing can touch the ford.
