Well just try to imagine doing this on a 55 F-250, that has the stock Dana 60 rear end w/ stock drum brakes, and an eight lug wheel pattern. I could not find anyone that makes the disc brake kits for the 8 lugs, so I gave up and rebuilt everything with new parts into the stock drum setup.

I so want disc brakes though.

 

I think that the Volvo 240 series came with that axle. All Volvo's have front and rear disk brakes. Some came with limited slip and a wide variety of gear ratios. It is actually a Dana 30 in the Volvo 240.

Well, I'm starting to consider using my dana 44 rear end, and am considering gearing options. I'll be disassembling it and can get the flange measurements if needed. My question is on the carrier. How interchangeable are they between years? makes and models? etc...
