The air bag warning light is flashing codes: three(3) two(2) periodically when engine is running. What does this mean?

clockspring is bad.

you need to remove steering wheel to get to it.

about 90-100 buck part.

 

quick check..unplug the clock spring under the dash where it goes up into the air bag.. put a 1ohm resistor inplace of the clock spring..if the light is out then the clock spring is bad...common problem.

I fixed my 94 last summer, exact same problem...
I was able to do it after reading threads posted here in this forum
and while I was at it I replaced the dash bulbs too.
Bulbs had been out by gas gauge for some time..
A two fer....

Here's a tip - an ebay seller has them on ebay for $ 65, altho made in China. There is a warranty, so I went ahead. Mine just came yesterday, so in the next couple of days ....

I don't have the books, is there anything I need to know about pulling the airbag so it doesn't go off ?? The sticky procedures don't mention anything, believe other vehicles disconnect battery power for a certain length of time .....

 

disconect BOTH baterry cables and let sit.I pushed on the break to send ant stored energy to the brake lights.Good luck,I did mine then had a code 51.Air bag control module.I just got one in the mail yesterday,but I sold the truck tuesday.The kid that bought itdidnt even care!!!Go figure.

 

I just finished mine about 15 minutes ago. That $ 65 china part is working just fine ...... the trickiest part for me was releasing the ignition switch for the small wire to attach behind it. It also took almost as long to get the steering wheel puller from murrays as it did to do the work ...... Yippie, my horn AND cruise now work ....

It was ebay. Do a search on Ford Clockspring or F150 clockspring, it should come up. The seller ID is : autopartsdirect2you you can do a search for a member, it's possible you may need an ebay account ? It appears the seller had more than 10, 2 of us made purchases .... Good luck.
