I've talked to several people at some shows around here and 1 restorer (who did the appraisel on my thunderbird). They all recommend Wells Chrome Plating right north of us in Collinsville. I've talked to them a couple years ago and they wanted around $300.00 to do a bumper for my Thunderbird.
PS... where in Owasso are you?

hey, i appreciate the come back...i'll see if i can find 'Wells' on the net or ask around....price little higher then i expected....can't we buy a plated bumper for that much?
I'm off north 120th east ave....not to far from reasors and taco bueno and all that.
Or going out the back way, not far from the new tire place and southern agriculture.
you here in owasso too?
Wells Chrome Plating is at:
305 W Main St Collinsville, OK 74021 918-371-2551
Get off on highway 20 (146th street north) go west. It will be small yellow building on the south side of 20. He has an awning for sale in front of his building. I don't think he has a web site.
I'm in Bailey Ranch Estates across from Thompson Feed Store. There are a couple other member here in Owsso also. Once in a great while we'll meet at Legends for some BBQ!!! Speaking of which, it should almost be that time again!!

glad there's some of us on here....we'll have to stay in touch....holla anytime....
Yikes, that does sound like the price of a whole new plated bumper. I drive by that plating shop often, when I get my haircut in Collinsville. Gotta love that OK Barbershop. That is the only shop I know of in the area. A few years back I was looking at one of the home plating kits from Caswell Plating. I don't know if they are in business anymore or not, or if the prices have skyrocketed or not? Heya Faber, welcome aboard. I'm also in Owasso. I'm in El Rio Vista, close to where Mike lives. I get to wake up and go out my front door and see that giant Bailey Ranch water tower every morning.

Hey guys. I know this is an old thread, but I live in Collinsville. I am new to Oklahoma (lived here about two years now) and I am looking for a place to chrome plate my headers. Did ya'll ever get ahold of these places. Every where I call I get an answering machine. Thanks for any info.
Wells Chrome plating (small yellow building) right on the main street (east of the 4 way stop) is who several people I talked to used. I know of one restoration shop that sends their chrome work to them also. It's probably best to walk in instead of calling. LAst time I talked to him, it was about $300.00 to do the front bumper of my Thunderbird.

$300 for a bumper? Geezus!! We can buy them for half that through LMC! I might try seeing what the headers cost though. Thanks.

Yep, but I can't run out and buy a NOS bumper for the Thunderbird.
