B1 Bomber to take-off from Long Beach airport
B-1 Bomber leaves Long Beach - Press Corps

Should be a rare sight. It's only a 10k' runway, so they will need after-burners and it will be noisy. Happens tomorrow, Monday May 18th.

Oh, yeah

Heard about this on the news yesterday. We'll certainly hear it from our house, but I'd like to get a time so I can go down there and watch.

Do you suppose they are deliberately vague about the schedule for security reasons? Or maybe the Air Force just does things when they darn well please.

I just heard it take off - it actually got up quick enough that I could see it making the turn to the south from right off of my front porch.

Pretty loud alright....
