truck leaning

i have a 01 f250 superduty lariat edition v8 5.4 4x4. When the truck is sitting on fairly level ground it is leaning down on the driver side. i had a number of people ask me if i had a broken spring but after inspecting found no broken springs. what could be the problem??

Most end up sagging on the driver's side because of the extra weight of the fuel tank and driver on that side. Mine has about 3/4" difference. I've thought about swapping rear springs side-to-side, but that's a lot of work.

I think there is a TSB on that issue. Maybe something about leaf springs.

Yes, there is a TSB. My 2005 F350 was lower by 1.75" on the driver's side. Took the truck to the dealership and they installed a 1" shim, wgich was covered under warranty. Anything less than .75" and the dealership will send you on your way.

Here is the TSB:

thanx. i am going to look into that. maybe take it over to my local dealearship. i bought the truck off of a friend. its got 46000 miles on it and im pretty sure there isn't a warranty on it anymore. if i find that is does need a shim will that be covered by ford or will i have to pay for that??

If your warranty has expired then you will have to pay for the shim and labor. Talk to the dealership and see if they will do the repair anyway considering that there is a TSB.

I believe most TSB's are only repaired under the 3/36 warranty or some of the premium plans but not sure.
