V10 Oil Filter

Dunno if they make one that'll work. Bypass pressure is also crucial, so don't forget to check on that if you're playing around
ALSO - the PH2 does not have a silicone anti-drainback valve. You should be using the TG2 or XG2.
One thought comes to mind, that you can buy a remote-filter setup for a 4.6L/5.4L and it should mount onto the V10's oil filter adapter. That way, you could hookup whatever oil filter adapter you want, but it would have to be in a remote location. Then you could use the HP2 filter...

WARNING - no Fram bashing.

The quality of Fram oil filters has fallen off a cliff in recent years. Go to google and search on Fram oil filters and you will find many pages dedicated to the poor quality of Fram oil filters. I personally use Motorcraft or any off-brand made by Champion Labs (e.g. Supertech, Penske, etc.).

I have been doing some research on the web looking for some cross reference numbers for a bigger filter. But havent found anything yet. That filter is metric 22x1.5mm threads.
I did find this web site on oil filters and now I am really confused on which brand to use!

Because this thread WILL go from "anyone know about a bigger V10 filter" all the way to "Fram is the worst thing in the world".
Which I have YET to see ANYONE PROVE.
There, I said it ... again. You can read up on the cardboard glued end-caps all you want, everyone saying it's a POS, etc. etc. until you're blue in the face. The truth of it is, the pressure is on the outside of the filter media, pressing on those cardboard end-caps. If paper is so bad under pressure, well, I guess the filter media itself will just go up in a puff of dust too
I've used them all my life, many people still do, and yet, I see NOT ONE STATISTIC about how "bad" they are in a fleet environment, how bad Fram's sales are (really Honeywell/Allied Signal), or any other real-world information saying they are so bad that you need to run away.
There, I said it. ALSO - the standard PH2 is not recommended for the V10, as Ford calls for the Motorcraft FL-820S - the "S" standing for silicone anti-drainback valve, which the PH2 doesn't have - the TG2 and XG2 versions do.
Now, back to the original poster's question - Anyone know of a larger filter for the V10 or the rest of the Ford modular engines?

Here is a solution to your situation. The thread for the filter is M22 x 1.5mm. I've been looking for filters with that spec. and keep coming up with the same size as the FL-820S. BUT there is a solution. You can install a double filter system. Summit has them.
