2003 Expy - gauges gone mad, won't start

Hi,
I searched the site and this points to a damp "GEM: module but I noticed one post said there is no GEM on a 2003. I am dealing with this now and I plan to look at the fuse panel now. Can someone educate me as to if there is or is not a GEM on a 2003?
Help will be much appreciated.
Gary

Sounds more like you lost an engine to body ground to corrosion or breakage.

Figured it out! It looks like the battery is bad . I put the charger on for 30 min. and it started right up. The battery is original so it is now 5 years old although I usually get more than that out of a battery. I checked that alternator and it looks good at 14.3 volts but I guess it could still be a leaky diode in the alternator that is discharging the battery. I am going to get it checked out today now that I can drive it.
Thanks,
Gary

5 years is about the maximum life for a battery if you're lucky.

Hi All,
It was just the battery. The alternator, starter, etc all checked out OK. I am still surprised at the operation when the battery is low. Basically all the gauges, wipers, etc. all went to max on position. What a strange result from a low battery.
