It had all the marks of a troll post and was removed. After all, if you don't own it anymore what's the point of posting other than wanting to stir something up?

My '01 threw #4 rod when I gunned it from a 90mph roll. I was doing maybe 130 when it just broke in half. Ford voided my warranty. I gave up fighting with them and bought a built engine. If you do freedom of information act searches, Ford doesn't have many complaints. I probably could have sued FMC, but it would have taken a long time and I get aggrevated easily. It just wasn't worth the time, efort, and aggrevasion.

Please tell me how because their customer service just said no as well.

Dis you have to go thru FMC for the engine?

You can contact FMC and dispute the voiding of your warranty. Look in your owner manual and call the customer service # and tell them you need a form sent to dispute the warranty claim.

I purchased a built engine from JDM engineering. Built with their Manley rods and SHM pistons. Balanced and blueprinted. The cost is somewhere around $4K. A new stock engine complete from supercharger to oil pan will cost about $5700. You can get long blocks for about $3600. Most likely your heads are good so I would recommend a built shortblock.

I think the dealer offered to install a new shortblock for $5K. I told them to forget it.

One think that has bother me lately is that the Oasis report had my truck listed as a warranty void until this summer when I had someone do another check and it was not listed as a warranty void...

Ken: You know me, and I am not a troll, I have a 2002 Harley truck with 5400 miles and a broken rod. At this point Ford refuses warranty repair stating the reason: "there was a chip installed in the truck". Their independent investigastor stated "the chip had no bearing on the failure", they still refuse to repair this truck. Next step is litigation!!!!The Lightning and HD trucks evidently have weak rods, not a good engine to supercharge.

Ford's reply is that this is an "isolated incident" and I must have done something wrong????? I need names to give to Ford, this is not an isolated incident!!!!

No, you're not an isolated case. The point, I guess, is that you'll often see dealerships do anything to get out of warranty work.

While I was up in Detroit this is one of the things I mentioned to one of the Ford people... that while you hear about problems with Japanese autos you don't hear about their dealers shafting people on warrantys. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people post that a Ford dealership tells them a problem is "normal" or the fault of the owner. Unfortunately, it puts people, like yourself, in the position of having to stand up for your warranty rights while taking on Ford.

You know what kind of response I got? The person nodded their head and had that far away look. Just look at how long this site and others reported the door crack issue before Ford finally fixed it (or even acknowledged it).
