Question SEVA Gear shops

Hey got a friend thats looking for a place to get her rear end gears change... shes already ordered the gears.. but the shops keep giving her a hard time about it.. some are saying they wont warrenty any work less she buys "their gears" and others are giving her astronomical price quotes for the swaps.. one told her itd 5-6 hrs to do it.. but i know thats no where near close to how long itd really take..

so anyone know any good, well priced, realistic timed shops for her to go to?

The time and price depends on the vehicle in question. If it's a 8.8 and she's going from a stock 3.55 to say a 4.56, then it is possible to take 5-6 hours to get it shimmed right. I've been setting up gears for a long time and some are quick, and some are a real pain to get right. An average price for labor at the shops up by me (northern VA) is about $500. And that's just labor for 1 set of gears.

The other option is if you think she's gettign over charged and you can do it better or for less. Make yourself some easy $$ and do it for her.
