O2 sensor location

i was wondering how high in a header collector should an O2 sensor be mounted to get the 600F temp it needs to work correctly. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

O2 sensor location

as for your question on how or where to locate o2 sensor,if your o2 sensor has 3 or 4 wires it has a built in heater in it if it has 1 or 2 wires in it then it is not heated.
the o2 sensor only needs 350 degrease to work as per o2 sensors.com.
I just duald my truck with hedman hedders long ones and 21/2 alluminized pipe w/40 series flowmasters dual chambers and put the 31/2 inch X22inch echo pipe angle cut tips on.
had the problem with the o2 sensor not reaching the collector . the o2 sensor should be located as close to the collector flange as possible.
as for the wires not being long enough ,a friend that works for ford told me not to cut the wires between the plug and the sensor because the wires are stainless steel . he said to add the wires between the wiring harness on the truck and the plug that the sensor plugs into
