2.0L Zetec Contour

I'm looking at a 1999 Contour for my sister and has me with a few questions. The car is in good shape and only 150,000 miles. There was oil in the #3 and #4 spark plug chamber. A significant amount in those cylinders and the #1 and #2 had very little oil.

Would this possibly be a valve cover gasket? There is also a small amount of oil along the valve cover and the block. Very little but it not much. Thanks

From what I can remember, there shouldn't be any oil down between the cam covers...

Felpro does a nice kit for the Zetec, Part # VS50489R

I cant quite remember the shape of the zetec's valve cover, but possibly from someone spilling while putting oil in the car?

The valve cover could be leaking, most likely origanal. The cover seals around the plug towers.

Just a side note. the flex plates on auto cars can crack taking out the crank sensor, so if it just dies and won't restart check that first.
