I am going to be changing out my plugs soon. I looked at some reviews on the E-360 plugs on Amazon and they were mediocre. My plan is to use a impact and Champion 7989 plugs. I'm kinda leaning toward the [why put a bad designed plug that causes so much hassle back in] theory.

What motor does he have? I have the 4.6 My factory plugs have 156000 miles on them. It was stalling out at stop signs, After cleaning the throttle body its purring like a kitten. Those OEM plugs must be pretty good. A new set would outlast the motor Im thinking at this rate. But to each their own.

I changed the original Motorcraft platinum plugs on our 3.0L 24V Taurus and Sable at 101K and 104K miles respectively. I would not recommend going past 60K miles on plugs. The gaps were extremely large compared to spec from wear on the electrodes. Both vehicles were running great. That's a tribute to Ford's excellent ignition system. I was going to change the plugs on my 06 5.4L F150 @ 65K, but I traded for a 6.4L Powerstroke CCSB instead. The longer you run the plugs in an 04-08 5.4L the harder it will be to remove them.

I wonder what is the difference in the plugs between the 4.6 and the 5.4 L that causes this problem? And thanks for the previous feedback, that's good information. Im about to sell mine too.

The difference is in the cylinder head design. The 5.4L isn't threaded thru like other engines are and carbon gets on the bottom portion of the plug and plug hole making for very difficult removal. But I haven't heard of any spark plugs being blown out of the head on a 3V 5.4L engine like happens in all other 2V modular engines from time to time.

Thank you Sir. That's exactly the information I've been asking for all over the place. I appreciate it.

Glad I could help. On heads put into service after November (not sure of day) 2007 was a redesign that corrected the problem. This applies to modular 3 valve heads.
