I have a 300 six with split clifford headers shorties.Dual exhaust with Lobak Mufflers. For a six it sounds pretty bad ass. A lot of people think its a eight cylinder. one thing though it eats collecter gaskets like crazy go with dead soft aluminum.
I to have a 300 and I was thinking about purchssing a clifford duel outlet header. I just don't know how to rout the rest of the system. Any suggestions? I will be using cherry bomb glasspacks.
Thanks

Just adding my 2 cents. My stock muffler rusted off the other day. Granted I was going to replace it with a Cat-Back system from Gibson or Borla, so it wasn't a big deal. However, since I'm still in college for a few more weeks before summer break, I don't have the money for the new muffler. So.... I just hacked off the remains of mine and bolted on a short straight pipe and a bend that exits before the rear axle. I agree with previous posts, it sounds like a wimpy motor boat. When I get the Cat-back, I plan to replace the stock cats as well, but I'm not sure on the headers. What would I gain by if I added a set of Clifford headers? With whatever I do, I aim to get rid of the motorboat sound, and get something that just plain sounds good. Any suggestions? Thanks.

LAST EDITED ON 24-Jun-00 AT 11:16*AM (EST)[p]If you get that 270 degree cam....it make a difference. The headers didnt do a whole lot but you have to run em if you do the intake as you have already found out. BUT i hollowed out my cat ( i had a high flow) and that made a BIG difference. If you do that though...get a flowmaster and run big tips. It will not dissapoint you....it will sound better than thoes ricers and the v-6's....it has its own unique sound. its hard to explane unless you have heard it. If you really want to piss the neighobors off ....run true dules with that 300.....WOW is it loud! BUT there is a point where it gets annoing...haha...but if you mellow it out with a set of flows.....there is no doubt that it would sound good.....I can honestly say ( being an owner of an I-6) there is nothing that sounds better than a V-8. BUT you can get a dang good sounding 300!! I love that engine! My 2 cents!
ALSO!!! i have clifford parts for sale. I am going to a 351C and need to get rid of my 300 and parts. So i will cut a better deal than clifford. AND i have welded the headers solid so no more dang leaks!!!! My email is Mudinford(No Email Addresses In Posts!) if anyone wants to get a hold of me. Thanks!
