I was able to get 56 ford truck wiper transmission arms, bellcrank,baseplate and motor for my 56, The motor is toast,rusted beyond repair. I need to replace motor and switch assembly,what could I use from a junkyard that would require minor fabrication to the stock bellcrank? thanks, John
This is Cowman's jeep wiper install in his '53 f100, more pictures in his gallery.
53-55 12v. conversion from Sac Vin Ford site;
56-60 12v. conversion from Sac Vin Ford site;
The replacement 56 motor is different then the 53-55 replacement one (originally the 6 to 12 v. change) so not sure if that would make the jeep motor change a problem in your '56 or not as Cowmans was a 53?
I need a favor if you get a minute, for something I was thinking about trying, could you please measure the distance between the two wiper holes/posts? Centre to centre and let me know.
Might I suggest you surf over to "Newport Engineering" who makes new aftermarket wiper set ups for F1 and F-100 trucks. I have one on a variable delay switch in my 51 F1 and it is fantastic!

Can you post a picture to show how that bellcrank set up is, I'm in the process of converting from from the vacuum motor to electric but trying to do what newport has done.

Hey Ray!
While you were at Newport did you happen to notice their "Delay" wiper switch? I got one for my Newport set-up and it has "infinate" delay speeds. ALSO though, it will allow you to use a 56 ****!
I did that for mine because the 51 **** has that slot and key "push on" arrangement. The 56 **** uses a set screw. That delay wiper switch at Newport is $75!!!!!!!!
