sorry to be deferent but there is one in every crowd. I prefer the sleeper quiet set up that comes out of no where and blows your doors off. Cops never hear you so they don't look as you fly by. Loud trucks and reckless driving go to top of local cops (watch for list.)

Better not tell that to the Fire Deptment guys in Harrodsburg,Ky. They all have loud pipes on their trucks, SO LOUD,,, You can not hear the sirens going off on the trucks, I got pulled over for not yeilding to fire dept, responding to a fire. When I got through reading the P.D. the FEDERAL LAW,,, They let me go without a ticket, REASON????? Federal law states that sirens must be heard,,,,,NOT LOUD PIPES!
Needless to say, those guys hate my guts! But the Law is the law!

i like the cut out idea, the point if you get pulled over switch it real fast. just out of my price range, i had a buddy with a 3rd gen camaro with manual cut outs, sat so low to the ground never got to uncork them unless he lifted it on a rack so rather pointless.

Sweet 460 in a 150. Open headers MMM sounds good. That will be one fast truck. I think someday I will put a 460 in a 150 just for the heck of it..That would be a mean street machine.

Thats basically why I did it - because I wanted it, not because I needed it to tow or anything. Instead of buying a new truck, that money is going towards rebuilding what I think will be a bit**in' truck.
Which is why I have things I don't need but wanted like electric cutouts and Hurst line-lock

One day, when my 77 f150 gets a 460, ill do duel flows, possibly with cutouts, but with the 400, im running stock exhaust. Sounds like chit, but im rather in cognito so I don't draw attention. But I cant have that with the 460, gotta hear that 57.5 cubes per cylinder firing as loud as possible, especially at WOT

I don't mind loud trucks, as long as they sound good.

There's a lot of guys I went to school with who had nothing but stock manifolds and straight pipes on there old trucks, sure they were louder then all hell but they also sounded like crap. Just because your truck is loud don't mean it sounds good.

I like the way the 351 in my 86 F150 sounds with longtubes, 2.5 inch duals, and glasspacks. Sound also mention that I'm running a moderate crane xtreme energy cam. It has a nice lumpy thumping sound at idle, it cackles like hell when I'm easy on the throttle, and it absolutely screams at full throttle. Its plenty loud for me, sure it aint the loudest truck in town but it sounds a million times meaner then any stock engine with straight pipes.
