Wire color for headlamp switch/Fogs

Looking for the wire colors to the fog lamps, want to put on seperate switch. My headlight knob broke off and had to super glue it back on.

From the switch? It's a foglight capable switch?

I think it's white. IIRC, I tapped that one to switch a relay for the factory foglights I installed. I'll go check...

Banditmax is starting off with a positive reputation.
It looks like a yellow wire that goes from the light switch to the central junction box where the fog lamp relay is located. It should work like before in that you have to have your low beams on. If you wanted them to come on independent of the headlights you would need to bypass the fog lamp relay and put in a separate relay for the fog lamps. I believe that if there is a brown wire that loops back into the light switch you can splice into there and your fog lamp indicator will still work.

I hope this helps

Mikey

I also think that if I go on a separate circuit to the fogs, they will have more juice. I like the idea of the fog indicator working on the switch Mikey....

Yes Ken, it is capable, I pull it out. But that's the problem, I pull it out and off comes the dadburn knob. I planned to put better lights up there anyway.

It's yellow. Banditmax was right.

I added OEM fogs to my truck. I got an OEm switch of eBay that has foglight controls.

I spliced the yellow wire to switch a relay that powers the fogs directly from the battery.

I changed the bulbs to 9006 bulbs by Dremeling out some material in the light housing. The bulbs are wicked bright and nearly negate the need for my regular headlights.
