First and Formost, if I have not welcomed you to the Family of Ford Truck Enthusiast as yet, I would like to take this opportunity to do so< Welcome!! Topic posted by FTE member jefflovesf250's who was in the process of restoring the toolbox on his F250. The thread does not have much info. but he emailed me and provided couple possible sources for the seals:
Seals + Direct UK - Rubber Door Seals, Sealing Products
"P" Strips, P Shape Rubber, P Strip Rubber, Tadpole Rubber
acme rubber, extruded rubber, silicone tubing, rubber extrusions, rubber sheet, rubber tubing, extruded rubber profiles, silicone sheet, neoprene sheet, viton sheet, rubber, rubber cord, extruded shapes, silicone, neoprene, viton, epdm, hypalon, natu
'Restoration Specialties, & Supplies' carries a variety of seals, gaskets, weatherstrip, and hard to find hardware. If you go to their website, appears majority of the seals are covered between pages 30-50, although, I find it difficult to tell from pic's. If you have a piece of the seal and send them a sample they will return it with a sample of an item they carry that is simular, or closely matches. Found their customer support very friendly, they were helpful in finding a gasket replacement for an early model vehicle fender skirt seal.

Based on Jeff's email, sounds like he did a thorough reconditioning of the tool storage compartment, and his email was very informative. Don't believe he would object if you were to email him; or, go to my FTE 'public view' and either send FTE email, or use personal email address and I can foreward his commments.

The rubber between the box assy and the bedside itself is the P section type welting...I THINK its basicly the same stuff used on the earlier cars/trucks who did use the welting between the body and fenders, etc.
The seal between the door and the interior of the toolbox...good luck...thats THE absolute hardest piece of rubber to find on these trucks by far...I think its actually prolly one of the hardest parts to find for these trucks period...thats just my opinion though...
Its a relatively simple type of weatherstrip as far as its cross section goes...
I looked in the parts books and the sources i have found...no parts are to be found...gotta improvise.
The door rubber is 73" long on the longbox toolbox and 49 11/16" long for the shortbox toolbox.
The welting on both runs across the top and down both sides...not across the bottom at all.
