Exclamation Broken Hubs???

Moring everyone of FTE!!!

Went out to plow this morning... Couldn't get the truck to kick into 4 wheel drive. I went out and thought the hubs were unlocked. The driver side was in the free position and the passanger was locked. I thought this was odd and so I locked the drivers side. Still, it wouldnt go back to 4x4. I got out of the truck and the hub was in the FREE position on the driverside only. I took the tire off and was looking around. The brake rotor was kind of loose, ya know, it was able to move a bit. Maybe a bad bearing too? I put the tire back on and kept it in the air. Normally, your not supposed to be able to move a single wire in 4wheel. Well, this tire rotated freely and the front diveshaft moved with it also. I got back in the truck, and tried again. It sounded like something was grinding and the hub came unlocked again. Are my suspicions correct?

Also, when I drove it out of 4x4 with the hubs locked, it sounded like something was grinding in that tire and from time to time the break would lock up. Idk if that has anything to do with the 4x4 but thats whats up.

We just got 8 inches of snow today and my truck wants the day off I guess... Its the 89 in my sig.

Well when you try to spin the front drive shaft when the hubs are locked, you cant do it. Now, when I did this, the shaft rotated and unlocked the driverside, just like that. no pressure really, just enough to unlock it just like you would do normally at the hub. It that makes any sense to you.
