460EFI firing order, and tri-Y exhaust Q.

Hello,
I want to fabricate my own tri-Y header/exhaust, and i wonder how the firing order should be divided into the Y's..
Also need the exact firing order uf the fuelie 460EFI, in order to create the exhaust.
Can anybody enlighten me?
Thanks.

The firing order should be 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. I've never worked out pairings for a V8, but on the I4 racecar I worked on at school, we paired every other cylinder in the firing order. Just as an example, the firing order was 1-2-4-3 and the pairings were 1-4 and 2-3. All those cylinders were separated by 180° of crankshaft rotation; each firing is separated by 90° on these V8s. Can you find any pictures of a Doug Thorley header? I know they have tri-y headers.

Yes they are for an injected 460, and they're made by Stan...

Yes they're expensive, but you get what you pay for...

Had to edit this URL because the forum software wouldn't parse it correctly...

Doug Thorley makes Tri-Ys for the the 460. I have a set of tri-y Thorleys on my 6.8l and the low and mid range power is superb.

Can you shoot some pictures of it installed?
especially drivers side?
The (truck) engine is going in my lincoln, and on the pics i have to decide if they'll fit, so if i can see them installed, it'll be a great help!

thanks.

The Thorley and Stan's connect the same cilinder order, so there won't be a difference in that.
Ideally i "think" there are better connections...
i would say that 1+2, 4+3, 5+7, and 6+8 would be the best cilinders to connect...
On the other hand... Company's like these probably know better than i do...
