will it hurt plugging up?

when the truck is cold, and you forgot to plug it up the night before, will it hurt my truck or dump truck to start them while cold, and leave them plugged up while running? I ask this because it takes the dump truck forever to warm up, and didnt know if there would be any flow problems. my dumptruck heater is a bottle style in-line heater.
