Let me see your lifted F350's!

Here is my 97 F350 with a 6" Skyjacker lift, and 37" tires. If you haven't purchased the lift yet, my advice would be to stay away from the Rough Country stuff. If you do some research around here you will find stories of sagging springs and lesser quality parts. (IMHO)
Great lookin truck!!!! I bet its strong....

ok... although it started off as an F250HD it's now got one ton running gear front and back. That includes a kingpin D60 up front and a 10.25ls in the back. the front has an add-a-leaf, and in the rear, stock F350 springs. Now I also installed a 2'' body lift... I know!!! body lifts suck! but at the time I had the front clip and box off so I thought what the heck... the body-lift kit was cheaper than buying new bolts as I had too torch off the old ones... If i had known then what i know now I'm not sure if I would do the body lift again... but I'm super happy with the way it all turned out. It is a bit of a pita to get in and out of... a but I am getin a bit old...lol

alot of people hate on body lifts no they are not as good for off-roading as a suspension lift and people say it will kill you because of ruined geometry. i never had a problem with mine neither has anyone else i know who has one our trucks don't have a very heavy body especially compared to superdutys. basically the reason to use a body lift is to get a little more clearance for bigger tires start off with a suspension lift you'll be much happier (i would have gone 6 inch but just couldnt do it at the time in my driveway) slapped on a 3 inch body lift with the 4 inch suspension i had on and fit some 37s all in all works great no regrets but i recommened suspension liftin it as high as your gonna want it the first time
allot of people... mostly hard core wheelers do think body lifts suck. I don't wheel my truck to often but there are some things that I have noticed....
first off the bolts that come with the lift kits SUCK!!! like I said in my original post I installed the body lift cause I had the box and front clip off... the proper bolts aren't available from ford any more... and I thought a body lift kit would solve that problem... and give me a bit of a lift... the thing is the bolts that come with the kits are only like grade 5 or so, not strong enough inmo.
I've noticed that the bolts that are holding the box on are starting to pull through the washers that came with the kit... add to that I've had to remove them a couple of times during my resto and the heads of the bolts are starting to ware off!!! I think the lesson is... whether your installing a body lift or just replacing the bolts... use grade 8 hardware!
The only other thing I don't like about the body lift is I'm getting allot of frame flex... I noticed right away that my box and cab flex way, way more than it used too... probably not a big deal but it kinda bothers me... like when I park my truck on a slope or uneven ground and you look at it and the box and cab sides are not in line.. It just don't look right.
Now don't get me wrong... body lifts are ok and all but capt-kirk had some good advice... if ya want to lift your truck... save your pennies and do a suspension lift... You'll be way happier.
just my two cents......

I wish those springs were soft. speed bumps are a bitch

A good question. I said the same thing when I first saw the pic. Biggest thing is the slope of the parking lot but the 408 stroker and fully loaded Mattco rollaway box under the blue tarp did in front of the axles drop the rear about 1.5 inches.

Or, maybe some airbags in the back.

Ok, so it used to be an F250 then I swapped in the D60 so now its a 350 in my eyes. Dont poke fun at the fact that it has no front driveshaft in this pic, or the fact that the tires are too small. It has a4" spring lift and a 4.5" Front shackle reversal and 4.5" Rear Shackle flip for a total of 8.5". Tires are 38" mud grapplers but Nitto's idea of a 38" and mine are about 2" different, the tape says closer to 36".
