Well they need of the 101 million, 100 million to pay the right of way down through all the friggin pasture out there in no mans land....And figgure Nobama will provide the funding for all those skilled construction workers to have jobs...

And Bill you have my sympathies....I really don't see a need either as the 101 loop is just a few miles east of the current 303.. Just a way for golf carts to get from sun city to good year....

My sister and her family recently moved to Tucson, and you are correct: you need more freeways.

Anyone else remember the company in the late 90s that offered to build the SW portion of the loop 101? They were going to build it, run it as a toll road for enough time to recoup their expenese and some ROI, then GIVE IT ... FOR FREE ... to the state. And the state said ... drum roll please ... NO. Gotta love politicians!

Perhaps that's what Tucson needs. Anyone interested? We'll start our own company and do it. Goodness knows we could all use the income.

I know it is tough up here also, in fact it is soooooo bad they are widening another 4 miles of hwy 89 to 4 lanes this only leaves about 5 or 6 miles of 2 lane between Chino and Prescott

yeah 3200 people in Chino when I moved here. and about that many antelope roaming where Prescott Valley now is. I still remember when chino got the first black top road, it was on the front page of the news paper, everyone had to drive down it, it was the busiest road in town for a while.

I used to push cattle on a ranch where Prescott Valley is. I also remember when Phoenix was smaller than Flagstaff is now there was no loop anything just I-17 and I-10 long before there was even a cherry road overpass. Things sure change.

Well, I remember when hwy 93 was a narrow two lane road & I 40 was a 2 lane road. Wickenburg was about as big as Wikieup.
Wood sidewalks in Prescott.
