Front Clip Choices

Hey guys I am new here and I am looking for some advice. I have a 1955 M-100 and was wondering what is a good choice for an IFS set up? I am leaning towards a TCI Mustang II setup, but I am not sure if I will buy just the crossmember and use all the suspension and steering from a old Mustang II. Or should I just buy a complete hub to hub setup? I also have 1975 Lincoln Mark IV and I was wondering if I could use the front clip off of it. If you guys know of any other front clips that work let me know. I know that Volare works, but would like to know about other ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Buy the new stuff. The old Mustang II is light weight. The new stuff just improves on that design and is much better for this situation. I can't comment on the '75 Lincoln, no experience there. Good luck.

That 75 Mark VII is going to be a little wide for your M100. A 77-79 T-Bird, LTD II, or Cougar would be better. My 55 has a 80-91' Fomoco style Front clip. I like it and wouldnt have any problems recommending it again and again.

Dave Holmes, "holmsey" put the Jag IFS under his 55 and "aussie 53" put the Jag IFS under his 53. They are both are driving them.

I am running a 87 Town Car IFS in my 53. While not an extremely difficult swap, it is not for the novice or the faint of heart. If done correctly it rides well and handles like a car. Welding skills and some engineering knowledge is a must. My frame was damaged beyond repair from a PO botched Volare IFS, or I would have gone the Jag route as suggested by others.

never did a lincoln front end but measure both frames, i`m sure it can be done! measuring a bit of cutting and welding and you`ll have a great front end on your truck! and you already have the car so its free!!
