Well I'm just about done with drivers ed now.
Two more classes and 3 more on-roads with the instructor then the on-road test and good to go.
I've got another onroad scheduled for next Tuesday before my second to last class.
Our lovely governor Jodi Rell totally screwed up the system with her bullying through of laws this summer.
She made it so that the permit test was 25 questions that were very easy. Then you've got to do driver's ed plus an 8 hour drug and alcohol course plus 40 hours of driving. At my driving school they do 8 hours of driving with them and you do 32 hours with your parents. I've easily done 32 hours of driving with my parents.
The way they screwed it up was that they eliminated the written test before the on-road test. That eliminates any reason for me to pay attention in drivers ed. I do, but most kids don't. Now they realized that they were too hasty in bullying through their new laws and are going to be changing them again. Fortunately I'll be able to stay on the same system that I started on instead of trying to change 1/2 way through.

Pete, you think thats messed up. get a CDL and try to get your HAZMAT endorsement (at 21 years old, the youngest u can get it at) lets see, go on transportation security administrators website, fill out a form asking a whole mess of stuff, pay 89.25 for it to go through. no this is where it gets messed up. you need to get fingerprinted. but, instead of me walking the mile or so from my house to the local PD, i had to go get 'printed in rocky hill (the only TSA certified printing site in CT) rocky hill is about 45 minutes from my house (less if my dads not riding with me) i called the place cause this was around a holiday. the lady described to me where this place was. it is the 2nd floor of a dentists office and "you'd miss it if you werent looking for it" greattttt. so anyway, get there, takes 3 mins to get printed (all electronic now, no ink, its pretty sweet.) they tell me ill get a letter in 3-4 weeks. sure enough 3 weeks later get aletter saying "this letter serves as a determination of no security threat" no kidin any of my family, friends coulda told u that. then still had to take the letter to the DMV and pay 5 bucks to take the test. and after all that, still no job yet...
so dont feel bad. youre not the only one stuck in a rut.
lets see, my regular liscense drivers ed (way back in 04) was basically the same thing. we were the guinea pigs of the no passengers for 6 months thing.
now that my rants over, im off to bed. school in the am. night all.

what a day! only a southern trucker would fill up on B100 with weather like this......he made it from the R.I. border to exit 65ish, and then got towed to me with "crisco" in the tanks. kept me busy all day, and now our waste oil heaters smell like McDonalds! when i was talking to him (wondering wtf he was thinking...) he said he had never been north of south carolina in his life, never felt cold like this, and didnt know anything about gelling fuel. he said the b100 was selling for .10 cheaper per gallon, so he filled both tanks!
after his stomach had settled with the mess he got himself into, we slapped him with a welcoming CT "sticker shock" bill. i think he is now on his way down south to fly his rebel war flag, never to return to good ol' New England ever again!
