C4 rebuild

I have a 1970+ C4. I purchased a B&M street and strip trans rebuild kit. Is this something a person with no trans experience can tackle? If I need to hire someone is there anyone you would recommend in Mountain Home or a surrounding area. The guys around here want $300, so thats why I'm thinking of taking the plunge. Also I want to be sure if I take it to someone they follow the instructions and drill the correct holes and change the right bearings out for the shift kit.

If the tranny needs to be rebuilt $300 is a great deal. The shift kit itself is easy. You can do it in a couple of hours yourself. B&M's instruction's page is generally pretty reliable.
