kero does not burn as hot as no2 diesel, you will lose power and mpg. it does have a lower gel point so you mix it with diesel to prevnet gelling

Not sure what that means but it don't sound good....Anything is possible. It just showed up via trailer from Wisconsin. We have been tasked with the charitable job of getting it running.

Pickling is where a preservative is placed in the fuel tanks, crankcase, diff, tranny etc. The military, (Ours) does this sort of thing, at least they used too. Rog

They do so preserve them, 10/10 oil in everything. I worked for the USAF as a contractor a few years ago at AMARC (boneyard) in AZ. Everything was serviced up with fluids and engines, fuel systems and whatnot were serviced with 10/10 oil.

Well the truck runs now and I still don't know what was/is in it! I let it pull out of a can with diesel after I emptied the filter and filled with diesel and it fired right up. I think it had more to do with the battery charge than the fuel. Didn't have time to let it charge fully before I started working on it last week so I had to work while it charged.

The AFB it came from said it had a bad injection pump it sure ran good! It should its a 1990 with 43K on it and looks brand new inside and out!

From what I understand it was free to. I can't recall if its the FD or DNR's but its kind of a joint venture.

It was also set up for Halon which can no longer be used so that may have been part of the reason for a new outfit. Cost to refit this one was equal to the cost of a new truck......Who knows it will make a good truck to start with for what they plan to use it for.
