1964 f100 -how much do I offer/I know it is newer than a 1960!!
Hi Guys.
I just located a 1964 F100 from Utah with 26,000 miles,and is a 6cylinder and a 4 speed.
I know this is a new truck for this forum--but I trust you guys!!
The owner said....give me an offer--and a good offer!
It runs real nice-but has a bent driveshaft. Also gastank needs cleaned out. Crap in it now. Also the brakes are locked up on 1 or 2 wheels. So,what is the value of this truck? I like to buy em cheap. But...I think it will make a great 2 tone resto.,and maybe will be able to talk the wife into buying it.
Thanks....Bill

Yep, ask them their other guys. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...-it-worth.html
Four runners (1961-63) listed on eBay now from 2000.00 to 11,0000.00.
Yours isn't really a runner, how much is it going to cost you to get it home? How did the drive shaft get bent, why are the wheels locked up, you might be thinking with your heart not your head, just like I do. Good for you!
Maybe 1500.00, at best 2000.00?

Has it always been shedded, is it rust free, any other options? That is the kind of information that helps to price something. Also, If it has been sitting for a year or so or longer, you will need to replace stuff that dries out etc. You know, hoses, belts, fluids, battery, tires, maybe brakes and brake components. All that stuff can add up pretty fast to a couple of grand if you aren't careful. I like the $1500 number if it is in nice shape.

I took a look in the February edition of "Old Cars Price Guide." From your description, it sounds as if it's somewhere between a condition class 4 and 5 which would place the value somewhere between $2,000 and $3,500 dollars. Add 10 percent if it's a unibody.
For your reference:
4=Good...a driver...even from 20 feet it needs a lot of help
5=Restorable...needs everything...essentially all there...only minor surface rust...if at all
Good luck, hope it works out for you!

You have to think of the times and what the truck meant to the guy. Plus with out a lot more info it is hard to say. Even when the market was good before the economy crashed I got a 1968 Dodge Powerwagon for 500 bucks. Guy said it didn't run and had no title and a tire was flat. Turns out he did have a title and the kid just needed to put a battery and some gas in the tank. Well that and a clutch slave rebuild. But still I doubt it was worth more than I paid for it.
This one has a lot further to go it sounds. I know WE all love fords and think they are all worth a million bucks. I don't think you would be offending the guy at all with a 500 dollar offer. It is not like they are rare (I see them here all the time....in fact a guy was giving away for FREE a running 64 just 2 weeks ago) if that is enough of a reference point.
It is going to take a lot of time to fix what is wrong not to mention money for the driveshaft if you can't do it yourself.

Thats the last year for the straight axle in the F100. You love them 6 bangers, theyre great! (now I sound like tony the tiger).
I have a black plate 1966 custom cab F250 camper special I'll sell for $2,500. Fe 352 auto trans. Runs and is real solid thats about all I know.
If its solid its worth more apart than as a whole truck.

Bill that I don't know; I would just start another thread bascially asking the same question. however; you have recieved some great replies here.
These trucks are bascially judge in price by the same standards, granted Effies are of more current value IMHO.
I would look at Bigwin56's 66 model, unless your in need of a 64, sounds like his is just as nice of condition if not better; also in the same state as you . I purchase a swb 64 Customcab 223 3spd, from a local friend last year, gave 1K for it, runs, has bad rust in radiator support & shot cab mounts. But its a short wheel base Customcab, (in my Gallery) and that's something I like, also as others mention its last year for the old straight axle in F100's.
Hope this helps.

I talked to him today, and he wants 2200.00 and it won't be following me home.
This truck is 5 miles from my cottage and thought it would be a good buy. Not for 2200.
Thanks guys.....but I guess I am destined to buy 56s.
I spent the day block sanding the 53. I love to sand. I think it is my favorite truck activity, next to spraypainting and masking.
It will look great as my winter effie. THANKS GUYS!!

Hi Bill, what are you thinking, I thought you were hunting for that big window 56. Okay , maybe you 've cought a virus, it happens. But if you still want to post this thread in the other forum I think you can copy the link and paste in the thread you would start in that forum. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...-a-1960-a.html I think this is what you want to copy.

I still cannot post pics by myself with no help. SO no big window .
Macsf100s has a nice big window for 4500 by it now price in Missouri. I would by it in a minute. BUT....now have a lead on a mint 71 ford mach1. Something is fishy about this car....the mach1 will make a good addition to my fleet. I just want to be sure it isn't a scam.

Terri says that if I learn how to post pics--then I am then able to start selling on ebay without any help. And she will let me buy more trucks and maybe a muscle car.
This Mach1 is a 71 and is a really pretty car. I will go tomorrow to inspect it. I am also leaving in a while to retrieve my 56.
Boley sent me directions for pics again, and I have got to learn this before we leave for the south. I am under the gun!!!
Thanks....and she just smiled when she read your question,....haha!! Bill
