painting the blue part of the ford ovals black?

about 5 years ago i was surfing around looking for ways to mod my black thunderbird when i came across a how to on tearing apart the factory ford emblems and painting the blue background black. I remembered this idea when i saw an 06 HD chevy today with the chevy emblem painted black to match the truck. I thought it would be cool to do this on my silver 99 f150 because those emblems are the only blue things on the truck. has anyone done this, or has anyone seen the tech article im talking about? thanks!

I saw it years ago. There is another copy hosted on another F150 forum, but I've admonished for posting links to them in the past. So click this link before someone deletes it How to Make Your Own Custom Ford Emblems

thanks, iu did come across that one last nght in my search, it looks cool but i dunno about that epoxy crap he uses in the last step....that seems to be taking it to the next level, Hes got almost as much in materials as the cost of a new black emblem from an aftermarket company. i did find another link on how to do it without runing the clear part of the embnlem so you can reuse it.

2 tons
I have done that mod on my Expy using the directions from the F150 site and is very easy and the cost for the materials is cheap. I paid 10.00 for the Enviro-tex and still enough to do about 20 more emblems. I posted a step by step on how to do it with pics, just do a search.

I've wanted to make one to stick somewhere on my black '59.
