odd vibration
Ok i have helped a few different members with their vibrations. Now i noticed a weird one with mine. I Have a 04 Scab FX4 with westin grille guard up front and roughly 300# ballast in back.. I have firestone destination at's with 70% tread. I have noticed these tired blow on icy surface. But heres where i feel the vibration with i'm taking off while turning say from a stop light i get a quick vib almost like your hitting the rumble strips on side of highway. Hes what i was thinking. since adding my grille guard its thrown my ballast off in back? and the front tires are kinda sliding while i'm taking off and kinda gives me the vibrations. I'm lost. I'm also kinda leaning towards bad tires. i mean i have never been so disappointed with tires in my life. Anyways Hope someone can shine some light on this for me.

Agree. It sounds like a clutch pack to me. Chech out TSB 06-4-4 (LIMITED SLIP AXLE CHATTER, SHUDDER, BINDING SENSATION OR VIBRATION DURING LOW SPEED TURNING MANEUVERS). My '04 Scab 4x4 is doing the same thing. I Know it is the clutch pak, just haven't got the time to rebuild it yet.

I don't know much about the ESP's, never had one. My thoughts would be that it should be covered under any power train or drive train warranty.

Good luck man. I wouldn't think that you would have any problems.

I just picked up my clutch pack from the stealership. Not bad, $150.00 with M-I pricing. Found out that the problem with the clutch is caused by wrong fluid specifications. Stay away from the FEPH 75w90. TSB calls for 75w140.

I just finished rebuilding my carrier. Pain in the rear end, pardon the pun. Drove out great, no shudder, like new. Thank the lord, I have to leave in the morning for Kentucky / Ohio (ice storm). Will be on the road for 2 or 3 months ( I am an independent insurance adjuster), and won't be able to work on her for awhile. I also installed my ad-a-leafs, WOW.
Good luck with yours.

Got it taken care of and as i was bringing it to the Dealer i blew a rear wheel seal...
They replaced the clutches, fluid, both seals. All on ford ESP....
I even had them replace and inspect front end...
Drives sooo much smoother now..
