Speedometer doesnt work :-bigparty

Hey i recently replaced my instrument cluster i bought off ebay and my speedometer isnt working - The old one was all cracked up and that one didnt work either. My book for this vehicle doesnt cover much about the wiring for this cluster. Any suggestions for trouble shooting would be much appreciated.

Bet its the cable or the speedo gear in the trans. More likely the cable though. Your old speedo probably still worked.

When I bought my 67 F-250 speedo did not work. Cable was disconnecter.
I reconnected it and needle jumper all over the place. Bought a new one from NAPA and it works fine. The old cable was touching the exhaust in one spot causing a bind. I bet it is a cable problem. You should be able to verify easily by disconnecting from speedo and see if core rotates when you drive. Could also be the plastic gear on transmission end -Bob
