Just my opinion here, but i have been pleased with with my pioneer head unit and speakers. the unit is old school and simplew/cd (but finally the internal amp is giving out) and the speakers have literally been though hell and back and sound great. my definition of hell is in a K-5 Blazer build for mud and on several ocassions has had rain try to flood the cab the speakers are still kicking good. However IMO their sub are worthless, Kicker is my personal choice.

 

I have a Kenwood CD player, alpine type R door speakers front and rear and 2 rockford P2 10s with a kenwood amp. The all sound great. Im one more for the Kenwood cd player. The Kenwood and the alpine door speackers sound great together even with out the subs.

 

Well, I have a JVS in dash flip out dvd and tv cd player. I also have clarion marine 6 1/2s in the doors, and behind the bench seat in the rear, I am rockin 2 10 inch JL audio W6s,with 1200 watts thru a audiophile gold series amp. Super low distortion rate, CRYSTAL clear sound, and its got a little bump to it as you can imagine. I used the factory POS amp for backfill around the barn foundation, along with some other nic nacs, like the fact air box, fact head unit, and a beat up chevy crank....LOL
