Alot of guys used to use Lincoln Town Car rearends in the fullsize F series and Broncs. You might be able to use a Crown Vic rearend but you'd have to measure fo sure. Why not do a disc conversion on yours and put in a Trac Lock unit. I wouldn't go posi on your van , tears things up unless you offroad or running in a straight line all the time.
Just my suggestions

Seems easier to get a 8.8 disc rearend from a 2000-2003 F150. Either way, the lug bolt pattern will be different.

I wonder if the width would be right? Good point on bolt patterns though LX.

mike, check this page. i used a very early production kit for my E350 and it all fit pretty well. they were nice on the phone as well. i converted to a trak loc when i did the disc brake conversion... one thing i did that i have not seen discussed was i converted my master cylinder to a late model E350 master by using the back half of my original brake booster and marrying it to the front of the late model booster - firewall bolt pattern/pedal would not support new booster and old booster would not mount the newer M/C. not saying you got to do it, just mentioning it in passing - it added about $200 to my total.
