Yes. You can used one of those FM transmitters made exactly for this. It sends a signal for various FM stations you tune on your radio and in turn plug the transmitter into the headphone jack of your ipod. The Monster one is pretty good, matbe the best.

I am looking for something that connects to the back of the radio and charges the ipod with no radio interference.

I don't think it can be done unless the radio has the terminals to do it and the switch on the front. Of course an electronic tech could wire something in, but unless you have a friend it's gonna' cost more than buing a new radio with everything included. Just my 2cents.

it's called a Pie adapter. You wire it into the Aux on the back of the stock stereo...but you cannot control the iPod, only recieve the music

or you can buy a 07+ F-150 OEM stereo and the iPod connection will already be there.

the 07+ stereos are pretty cheap. I just found a 08 6disc/mp3 for $40

Lookup a pie adapter called an Isimple. It is specifically made to connect an ipod to the factory radio. I will allow you to control the ipod from the buttons on the radio and operate through your AUX function assumming you don't have the factory dvd player or the factory satelite radio installed.

I just have the plain AM FM radio in the XL, will it work in there???? I'd be interested in that.

I took the pie adapter and it had the jack for the head phones. I took the same size drill pit centered it up on my center console where the cig. lighter is cause I got the lighter and the back up sensor button so in the middle its empty. Drilled the whole in the center so I got the jack there. Looks nice. No Cords sticking out but you still have to operate the ipod like you normally do. Not to big of a hassle

@ misterdave

you talking about a radio swap, or the PIE adapter?

radio swap from a Mark LT/Mustang/F-150/Expy/Navi will fit from any of those models into any of the others.

they will all just plug n' play...you'll have to wire in stuff like subs though. but the basics will be fine

pretty sure the PIE adapter will only work if you have the AUX function on your radio

Thanks Tylus, that's what I thought, so I'm stuck with the transmitter, which is pretty good until I change to a new unit. .., I want direct in and bluetooth eventually. Thanks again for the info.

I've been looking at the Pioneer Avic series...wow, talk about some serious cash.

thinking the 07+ radio is what I'm gonna do. I'm swapping cell sevices to the I-Phone and I'll be using it as a iPod in the truck. seems easier to me to just buy a new headunit than wire in a PIE adapter

I used this device in my 05 SCrew. My truck has the radio with the "aux" button. Works fantastic! I can control my ipod from the radio, it keeps the ipod charged and out of sight in the glove box. No wires dangling, no extra holes in the dash. No complaints (except the price). Very cool device.

Peripheral Electronics

Good Luck!

Would the AUX adapter that Brandmotion sells, be considered a "PIE adapter"?

No brandmotion sells the "iPod Direct Connect Adapter". You will have full control of your ipod with steering wheel, and deck with it. And it will charge your ipod aswell. I went with this one and love it.

Where is best place to buy these? Where'd you find it and will it fit right into same place as factory '06 F150 radio slot?

Also, I know your on here a lot....any bed cap experience?
Thanks!
