The left rear wheel has come of my 97 f150 twice. The first time I thought I had forgot to torque them as I had just done a brake job. The second time came days after the tire shop had just rotated them. Both times it was the left rear. I am running 32" tires on 17X10" custom wheels. I wonder why ford quit using the 12MMX1.75 lug nuts that came with my 97???

Okaaaayyyyy. Talk about digging up a dead thread. But since it got raised from the dead, I'll mention something. Not long after I bought my 97 F150 new, Ford did a big recall on the lug nuts due to loosening problems and wheels coming off. I do remember taking it to the dealership, and they put the current style lug nuts on it. Something you might want to check out. I'm sure they can fill you in with the specifics over on that forum. It's been a long time. I don't remember the specifics.

Wasn't MOPAR's left nuts on the right side?
If your worried get some left threaded studs and nut and replace what you have

My first "old" car work... a buddy bought the old tire shop (michelin brand, but ma pa ownership) tire mobile - michelin yellow colored dodge dart sedan. Being we were both novice to mopar, we both stared at each other when the lug nut wouldn't come off, and asked each other "righty tighty, yeah?" After 30 minutes of torquin and twistin and getting a bigger wrench we finally got the first lug nut off (and the stud with it). We stopped at that point and examined it real close as to why the stud would break off like that.. felt kinda dumb taking the hub to the local napa to get them to press in a new stud.
Ah the things we do when young.

I had a 1953 M38-A1 Jeep which was basically the same as a CJ-5. It had left hand threads on the lug nuts on the driver's side. The nuts had a notch cut in the center as an identifying feature.
