Brakes on 07 Expedition??

I have an 07 Expedition with around 30K miles on it. My brakes are squelling horribly every time i go to slow down or stop. Is it really possible I already need to pads? What are the odds that my rotors will need to be changed out as well?

Also, what is a good replacement pad and rotor, and the best place to buy them?

Anything is possible. Pull a wheel and look in at the pad thickness. May be just a buildup of dust. Also if you do replace the rotors do not be tempted by cheap junk. Have a look at appliedrotortechnology.com in the list of sponsors. Good luck.

So a total of $788 plus s&h. Think it is worth it? That seems kinda pricey to me, just for rotors and brake pads, plus I still have to pay a shop to do the installation.

I swapped rotors and pads on my Infinit G35 with EBC Rotors and Hawk pads for like $450 plus $50 a wheel for labor to install.

I agree with you $788 does sound a lot. Check out rockauto.com also in the list of sponsors. However `07 with 30000miles you should only need rotors if the brake pads are down to the metal and have destroyed the rotors. It would also be odd if this happened to all four.
Rear pads rarely wear as fast as the front so I would guess they are OK. I assume you have alloy wheels? If so you should be able to just look thru the spokes and see the condition of at least the outside edge of the rotors, should be shiny and smooth. However I would pull a wheel and just by looking at the gap in the brake caliper you should see the edge of the steel backing of the pads and how much of the friction material is between the backing and the rotor.
