New to me F150
Just got an '05 XLT Supercab, 6.5' box, 5.4L, 3.55 gears with about 26,000 miles about a month ago. Absolutely love the truck to this point. However, it is a little doggy and the shifting seems a bit mushy. I would like to have it shift with a little more firmness, and not be searching for gears. I would like to get a tuner of some kind to help with both of these concerns. Any suggestions from folks that have the same truck?

try something first. these trucks have an adaptive tranny. it basically learns how you drive and shifts accordingly.
unplug your battery and leave it unplugged for about 30 minutes. then reconnect
the truck will run a little "weird" at first, but after a certain # of miles and key on/off cycles, it will settle into a rythym.
worst case you have no improvement. Best case, your PCM learns your driving style and you get some better performance.
eventually the truck will adapt to your driving style without the battery trick though...it'll just take time

otherwise, I vote for the Edge Evolution, or it's brother the Gryphon.
Same tuner, different colored casings.
Edge has canned tunes, the Gryphon has customized tunes and the canned tunes
hands down, the Edge is the most popular tuner for the 04-08 trucks. It has a variety of gauge functions and it mounts on your dash for real-time useability.
