Flairside spare tire and jack

Flairside spare tire and jack
Question time. My flairside does not have the left rear outer spare tire holder, so I was wondering if anybody has a picture of what the inside the bed spare tire bracket looks like. Also I have no jack, and was wondering what did these trucks come with for a jack, and where was it stored originally.
Thanks in advance guys.

If I have not already done so, like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Family of Ford truck Enthusiast, Welcome to FTE!!
On my 65 flareside short bed, the tire mounted to a bracket on the outside of the bed between the driver's side of the cab and rear fender. There is an indentation in the fender for the tire to set in. Had to replace the fender and could'nt find another flareside fender so I decided to go with the later model spare tire bracket that mounts under the bed. It's an easy swap and prefer it because the spare is out of the way and not taking up bed space. My 65 did not have the jack, if recall, one of the spots they are mounted is on the drivers side inner fender.

I have the correct jack and two more that are similar but need the strip of bar stock welded atop. Have the brackets here too, along with the wing nut lock. This is the correct jack TMK the oether two are the same minus the u shaped piece at the top.
These mount on the inner fender just behind the headlight. Also requires a custom rod handle to use it. Only have one of these, but seem to run across one about every other trip to the yard. Would be willing to unload one of the Jacks/Strap, if you want it. PM me..

If this helps, by looks anyway, thats the same jack that came with my 69, both 78's, 86, 87 and 93 Fords so it shouldn't be too tough to find (my 66, 65, 63, 61, and 60 didn't come with jacks when I got them). I think the only difference I ever saw between them was how the handle folds up, and not much difference at that.

Have the 65 Ford Truck Body and Interior Assembly body manual and could not find a flareside spare tire bracket that mounts on the inside of the bed, perhaps more knowledgable member can provide some help. There appears to be a mount for the front of the bed, and another for the rear.
If intend getting into any body or interior work suggest the 'Body/Interior Assembly Manual' from Jim Osborn Reproductions provides description of type of sealant, location of fasteners, and detailed breakdown of the various body parts.
Product List
If interested, email me [public profile] I can send pic's of the bracket, may be able to use as an example to refab for the flareside.

Thanks for the info so far guys. The jack looks alot like the jack my 78 Bronco used to have under the hood. I think I saw one at the local Pick & Pull a couple of weekends ago.
Anybody have a picture of the in-bed tire bracket they can post? I'll probably have to make one.

This jack replaced the one used on 1948/72 F100's.

There is no inside the bed spare tire bracket for a Flareside.
The Flareside either had the spare tire under the bed or mounted to the left outer bedside. The left rear fender had a notch at the front where the tire fit in.

The Bronco jack is D3TZ17080C, the same one used on 1973/79 F100/150's.

I think I'll try to make and in-bed bracket using the existing holes in the bed.
Thanks for the help guys.

I didn't know that. I don't remember where I got the impression there was an in bed spare holder for Flairsides. There are holes in the drivers side bed side that look factory that must be there for the outside carrier. Maybe at one time mine had the cutout fender, and it was replaced.

You can make one, or buy an original NOS bracket.

The NOS bracket at dennis carpenter is which bracket? Under the bed or outside on the drivers side bed? If I make one it'll be an in bed bracket.
